Dear Mr. Tolbert,
Thank you again for having me on your show. I truly apologize, there was a question you asked me last night and my thoughts were miles a minute.
Your question, of the physical aspect of my injuries in regards to the retinal detachment from my eyes.
My first injury from the abuse was to my right eye. I sustained a detached retinal. The procedure to repair my right eye is called the buckle procedure and sadly, I lost all peripheral vision from my right eye.
When I was dragged by the State Trooper with the State vehicle and I went head first into the concrete, that impact into the concrete caused me retinal detachment from my left eye, the procedure that the doctor preformed was the buckle and the band procedure. The retinal detached in three separate parts of the eye. Again, I lost all peripheral vision from my left eye.
It feels like I am looking through a peep hole. I can not tell if someone is on the left or right side of me. I do not travel alone because of my vision. I will never be able to drive again. At night it’s even more difficult. What is left of my vision is not much but….As I said, I am one of the lucky ones. I am here to speak out against the horrible abuse that took place in my life.
Many victims and survivors suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Hyper Tension, Heart Disease, Depression, Arthritis and Diabetes.
I suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Diabetes.
As I said on your show, I know more then anything that; our GOD was with me through this horrible abuse. Many do not survive. Please take a moment of your time and look into BEHIND THE BLUE WALL. It will show so many women killed and abused by Police and State Police Officers. Cloud Writer has helped me so much and so has Women In Transition and Diane Wetendorf, who is an advocate against Police officers involved in domestic violence, her website is called ABUSE OF POWER.
I am blessed with wonderful family, friends and supporters. This is why I have been able to speak out. I refuse to keep hiding.
Again, thank you for your compassion and to your wonderful fiancé.
With much respect,
